A human body, reinterpreted as a machine. The If I Could Only Be a Robot Bodysuit is crafted from ultra-soft material, creating a lightweight, second-skin base for an original robot body print designed by Taimur.
The artwork explores our increasingly conflicted relationship with robots and AI. We’re fascinated by what machines can do, while simultaneously threatened by how quickly they are learning to do the things we once considered distinctly human, including our jobs. We want to remain human, yet there’s a strange parallel desire to have what robots are increasingly given: our roles, our tasks, our place in the world.
The print plays with this contradiction by translating the human form into the visual language of a robot, mapping mechanical components directly onto the body.
